"Hi Cory, I reviewed your case personally. In fact, you are correct that last month Sharon from our office reached out to you proactively to review your policy and offer options to lower what we noticed as a substantial premium increase, $180 to be exact. Respecting your choice to shop around, we left it for you to contact us back. Now that you have asked Jenson in our office for lower premiums with lower coverages. He was able to offer you a much lower premium, with of course, much lower coverages. The recommendation of making the payment on the due current amount and letting the company process the change in coverages is appropriate, since your renewal date is 11/18 and we do not want to expose your policy to a cancellation for nonpayment while the company process the changes. As well, the 3 weeks to process the change is unfortunate, but we don't have control of the time frame it takes for the company to complete the process. Thus, the reason for having you make the payment, let them complete the change and provide you the due credits back. While the company is slow in making the changes, the fact is that they do not keep any premiums not earned. Knowing that, we have certainty that you will be adequately and promptly refunded any excess paid premiums. Lastly yes, we have to be responsible in making sure we disclose that all quotes we provide are estimates as issued by the system and always subject to the final review by the underwriting department. If you look closely, ALL quotes you receive from ALL companies', it states that information as well. The fact is that in our office to be fair with the consumers, we do not leave it for them to find out by having to look at the small print. We make sure that we disclose it upfront. While we expect for you to receive the quote or a better rate than what was quoted, we want to make sure you are on the known, rather than surprise. As is, you have the option to set up a monthly (partial) payment based on the current billing and then upon completion of the change of coverages, we need to collect the balance of the due premium.
